Drug Coverage
Managing your prescriptions is essential to maintaining your health, and we’re here to help you navigate your drug coverage with ease. All of our SECUR HMO I-SNP plans include comprehensive prescription drug coverage, ensuring you have access to the medications you need at an affordable cost.
Explore Your Drug Coverage Options
- Comprehensive Formulary: SECUR Health Plan (HMO I-SNP) offers a broad formulary that includes both generic and brand-name medications. We work closely with healthcare providers to ensure our formulary meets the needs of our members, providing access to effective treatments for various conditions.
- Download the Formulary: Access the complete list of covered drugs by downloading the Part D Formulary (Tier 1) or Part D Formulary (Tier 5). These documents detail all the medications covered under your plan, along with any restrictions or special requirements.
- Cost Tiers:Â Our formulary is divided into cost tiers, helping you understand the potential out-of-pocket costs associated with different medications. Lower-cost generics are typically on the lower tiers, while specialty medications may fall into higher tiers.
How to Use the Drug Lookup Tool
Our online Drug Lookup Tool makes it easy to find out if your medication is covered under your SECUR Health Plan and what your potential costs may be.
- Search by Medication Name: Simply enter the name of your medication to check if it’s included in our formulary.
- View Coverage Details: The tool will provide information on the drug’s tier, any associated costs, and whether prior authorization or step therapy is required.
- Review Alternatives:Â If your medication is not covered, the tool may suggest covered alternatives that you can discuss with your healthcare provider.
Important Considerations for Drug Coverage
- Prior Authorization:Â Some medications may require prior authorization before they are covered. This process ensures that the drug is medically necessary. More information can be found in our criteria file links:
Prior Authorization Criteria Tier 1 and Prior Authorization Criteria Tier 5 - Step Therapy: For certain medications, we may require you to try a more cost-effective drug first before moving to a more expensive option. More information can be found in our criteria file links:
Step Therapy Criteria Tier 1 and  Step Therapy Criteria Tier 5 - Quantity Limits: Some drugs may have limits on the amount you can receive at one time. This is to ensure safe and effective use of the medication.
