Interoperability and Patient Access
At SECUR Health Plan, we believe your health information should be easy to access, secure, and useful to you. That’s why we follow the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Interoperability and Patient Access Rule (CMS-9115-F). This rule is designed to put you in control of your health data.
What Does This Mean for You?
- Access your health information anytime: You can use apps of your choice to view your claims, medications, and other health records.
- Better care coordination: Doctors, pharmacies, and other health plans can securely share information to help you get the right care at the right time.
- Transparency: You’ll have up-to-date provider and pharmacy directory information at your fingertips.
How It Works
CMS requires health plans like SECUR to make certain information available through secure online connections called APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). Think of APIs as digital bridges that let your health data flow safely between systems you trust.
We offer:
- Patient Access API: Lets you connect your health data to apps you choose.
- Provider Directory API: Gives you current information about doctors and pharmacies in our network.
- Payer-to-Payer Data Exchange: Ensures your records can move with you if you switch health plans.
For Developers
If you’re building apps or tools that connect with SECUR’s APIs, you can find technical details and register through our Developer Portal. This ensures that all connections meet CMS standards for privacy and security.
Why This Matters
Healthcare can be complicated, but accessing your information shouldn’t be. By following CMS rules, SECUR makes sure you have the freedom to use your data, the confidence that it’s secure, and the convenience of sharing it when needed.
